Friday April 23

Meet Barbara McAfee, our featured artist for the retreat. As a singer/songwriter, Barbara specializes in helping people find their voices, whatever that means to them. Join us for a fun energizing start to our weekend.

 

8:00 pm - 9:00 pm Breakout Sessions (* indicates that participation is limited and pre-registration required)

 

What Are you Reading? – Books have been a welcome escape during the past year. Join Liz Permar to share your favorites and get new ideas for your library.

 

Art * – Debbie Cash will help us make a ”resilience doll” which will serve as a metaphor for the resilience skills we need to overcome setbacks on life’s journey. (Please pre-register.)

 

Poetry – Who wasn’t inspired by Amanda Gorman on Inauguration Day? Colleen Cavell will host a discussion of two of her favorite poets. Come just to listen or share your own favorite poem.

 

MOVE! – Learn groovin’ dance moves to exciting music in the privacy of your own home. Dance like no one’s watching - Oh, that’s right, no one is!

 

Saturday April 24

Interplay * – As a certified Interplay practitioner, Hannah Mitchell will lead you in listening to the wisdom of the body through movement, words and sound. The experience can be deep and spiritual as well as light and funny. (Please pre-register.)

 

Sound Healing * – Put on your headphones, lay down, or find a comfortable chair and experience a session of Sound Healing with Kay Gardner. We will move through the seven chakras with color visualizations, scent imagery and chanting or toning vowels. Let the healing begin. (Please pre-register.)

 

Armchair Travelers – Where will we go, why, and how may travel have changed? Candace McClenahan, frequent traveler, will lead an exchange of ideas and forecasts of what future travels may look like.

 

Spiritual Writing – Becca Lutt-Pournoor returns to the AUW Spring Retreat to guide a spiritual writing workshop exploring where resilience can be found in you.  From her past workshops you may expect a little spice to be thrown in as well. Bring writing instruments and paper.
